Senior Accountant to Skanska Group HQ

Gazella is now recruiting an experienced and team oriented Senior Accountant to Skanska Group HQ. Skanska is one of the world’s leading construction and development companies. They have business operations spanning from the Nordics to Europe and the United States. As Senior Accountant you will work with accounting and reporting, with a focus on our financial services, including monthly, quarterly and year-end closing. You will become an important part of their journey towards a better society and work in an international and multicultural environment with colleagues from all around the globe. The team consists of five people situated in Stockholm, all reporting to the Head of Accounting & Controlling.

Your challenge

As Senior Accountant at Skanska Group HQ your responsibilities will be:

  • Main focus on the accounting and reporting of our financial services
  • Accounting of financial instruments and hedge accounting according to IFRS 9
  • Analysis of Skanska Group´s financial net and interest-bearing assets/liabilities
  • Monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting of consolidated financial statements according to IFRS, including forecasts
  • Preparation of annual reports and interim reports
  • Superuser for the treasury system (accounting modules), driving system upgrades and improvements
  • Prepare for audits
  • Contact and collaborate with internal stakeholders, auditors and other departments within Skanska HQ
  • Support colleagues with daily tasks and other ad hoc assignments

Your experience / qualifications

To succeed in this role, we see that you have a university degree in finance or equivalent education, along with a minimum of five years of relevant work experience in accounting. An understanding of and interest in working with processes is essential. Previous experience with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes is required, and a background in larger organizations would be advantageous. You have good knowledge of IFRS as well as financial instruments and the corresponding reporting requirements, including hedge accounting. Proficiency in both Swedish and English is necessary since you will communicate in both languages daily, as well as excellent skills in Microsoft Office. Additionally, you have solid knowledge and a strong interest in systems, and experience with Oracle Fusion, Wall Street, or other treasury systems is considered an advantage.
