Gazella is now recruiting a driven Sustainability Supply Chain Specialist to Mips, a growth world-leading company specializing in the safety for helmets. As a Sustainability Specialist at Mips you will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and directing activities aimed at promoting sustainability in accordance with the company’s objectives.
Ambitioning to be the leader in its field on sustainability, Mips has set goals in line with the Paris Agreement, and their emission targets have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Climate reporting, along with the collection, organization, and analysis of data, constitute significant aspects of the position. Additionally, the role will encompass other Supply Chain tasks related to sustainability. Being part of an international team both in Sweden and in China, you will report directly to the Sourcing Manager.

As Sustainiability Specialist at Mips, your core responsibilities will be:
- Understanding sustainability and emissions beyond the confines of the GHG-protocol and SBTi is essential for guiding future projects. This involves grasping broader concepts such as biobased materials, discerning greenwashing tactics, navigating relevant regulations, and quantifying avoided emissions. Such knowledge empowers informed decision-making towards more sustainable outcomes.
- Be responsible for driving Mips’ sustainability work within the supply chain, which involves cross-functional work with a direct and indirect link to sustainability issues.
- Address sustainability matters across the entirety of the supply chain, such as identifying the necessity for and executing renewable energy integration at supplier facilities through the formulation of long-term incentive strategies.
- Participate actively in strategic sourcing endeavors by assessing suppliers’ capacity to align with Mips’ ambitious sustainability objectives and providing training to key suppliers.
- Focus on sustainability aspects related to Mips’ product line, including the calculation and analysis of carbon emissions per product.
- Develop and maintain an effective system to collect environmental data from international suppliers, ensuring auditability and clarity for external reporting.
- Collaborate with the Product Development team to establish, enhance, and execute Mips’ Sustainability Roadmap.
- Collaborate with Mips’ experts and suppliers to pinpoint production enhancements for existing products, aiming to minimize carbon emissions.
- The role may entail some travel (if conditions allow) to China and Europe.
Your background
For this position, we are searching for an individual with an academic degree In Engineering, Supply Chain, Sustainability or equivalent with previous experience in the field. You have preferably a minimum of three years of experience from working with sustanibility issues related to emission reductions in relation to international sustainability frameworks and standards, including but not limited to SBTi, GHG Scope 1, 2 and 3.
We want to emphasize that experience in calculating and analyzing figures and data is a fundamental requirement for succeeding in the role.
Experience in other types of sustainability work is not individually sufficient to qualify for the role, although it is certainly advantageous when combined with experience in the technical aspects. Furthermore, you thrive in social contexts where you have the opportunity to present and influence new approaches and methods. You have experience in engaging with people and understanding various perspectives.
Proficiency in Excel and a proven track record in data analysis are essential skills for this role. You are fluent in both spoken and written English, as it is employed on a daily basis.
