Business Controller to Avolta
Gazella is now recruiting a business-driven, communicative and result-oriented Business Controller to Avolta. Avolta is a Swiss-based travel retailer that operates duty-free and duty-paid stores, convenience stores and restaurants at airports, cruise lines, ports, railway stations and central tourist areas. You will be a part of a fast paced and international environment, working close to the CFO in both strategic and operational matters, and having touch points throughout the Nordic organization but also towards Avolta Group. In this position you will play a vital role in conducting analysis of company performance, and communicate on business insights, combined with constant monitoring and control of costs, to assure a transparent, complete, and timely reporting to all stakeholders.

What Avolta offers you
In your role as Business Controller, you will be a part of the Nordic finance function working together with 2 other prestigeless and motivated controllers reporting directly to the CFO. Avolta is on a journey of development, and you will have the opportunity to be a part of a positive and international work environment. You will be located at the office in Stockholm Arlanda, with the opportunity of working hybrid two days a week.
Your challenge
In the role as Business Controller at Avolta, your core responsibilities will be:
- Monthly analysis of financial results, sales and KPI performance towards the company’s strategic and financial goals.
- Execute on monthly closing and group reporting activities in close cooperation with the service center located in the Netherlands. Focus will be on concluding analysis and assuring qualitative reporting and documentation for different stake holders, always with the aim to communicate an accurate and comprehensive picture of the development of the business.
- Forecasting and budgeting – you will play a key role compiling the budget based on trends, assumptions, information and plans available on both revenue and cost within the organization. You will be responsible for maintaining flexible budgeting models and to assure strong follow–up on performance during the financial year.
- Trending, modelling, and scenario planning will be part of ongoing development where the role will play a great part.
- Ad-hoc analysis, business cases and assessment of new business opportunities.
Your Background
To succeed in this role, we see that you have a university degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Controlling, along with 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally from a fast-paced, international company within FMCG or Retail. It is important that you are accustomed to communicating with many parts of both an international group and the local organization. Your previous work has required strong analytical skills, the ability to turn analysis into actionable points and an ability to collaborate and communicate cross-departmentally to turn analysis into actions. You have worked with a clear focus on improving processes and results, and in roles with a strong B2C orientation. You speak both Swedish and English, and you have excellent skills in Office, particularly Excel, and preferably profound system knowledge in general and SAP in particular. Experience from PowerBI is meriting.

You have an interest in driving improvement and maintaining good control in financial reporting. You are ambitious and analytical, and as much as you like to ensure accuracy and completeness in the data, you like to contribute to the organization through your findings. You enjoy working with large amounts of data and have a strong focus on details. In order to enjoy the role, you have an ability to take initiative and strive for efficiency in tooling and processes. But above all, you like to work with a big-picture approach when building your understanding to stay in control and contribute to a stable and healthy financial development for the company.
